While AI isn't making horses literally speak, it is being used to help bridge the communication gap between horses and humans by analyzing and interpreting their body language and vocalizations.
This allows humans to better understand what a horse is feeling, needing, or experiencing, leading to more empathetic and effective care and training.
Researchers are using AI to analyze 3D motion capture data and facial expressions to understand horse body language, which is crucial for understanding their emotions and needs.
Based on new research from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Swedish University of Agricultural Science (SLU), the platform, named DESSIE, can reconstruct the exact 3D motion of horses from videos, using an AI-based parametric model of the horse’s pose and shape.
